this movie is not only a hyped summer action flick but an eagerly-anticipated installment in a franchise that would bring in its large existing fanbase even if we hadn’t already successfully rebooted it
the plot is strong the pacing is good the filler is funny but you know what this film really needs?
a scene with highly-sexualized shots of a woman taking her clothes off

the kirk/gaila scene which leads into kirk watching uhura change for no apparent reason without her knowledge was kept in the film while they cut a scene detailing how gaila helped kirk cheat the kobayashi maru because she worked in the computer lab
